10-Day North Island Experience

Day 1

Drive south from Auckland to Taupo. You may take the time to visit the Waitomo Caves or spend the late afternoon evening on Lake Taupo fishing for trout. Night in Taupo.

Day 2

Morning tee time at the splendid Wairakei Golf Club. Enjoy the rest of the day discovering the attractions around Taupo. Experience a ride on the Huka Jet – pure exhilaration. Night in Taupo.

Day 3

Drive to Rotorua and discover the wonders of this area. Night in Rotorua This is only a 90–minute drive but it takes you through New Zealand′s geothermal area. Some great stops along the way. A great option tonight is to attend the Maori Hangi and Concert.

Day 4

Play golf at Rotorua Golf Club-just be sure to keep your ball out of the boiling mud-pools on the course. An amazing geothermal phenomenon that you won′t find on many other courses in the world. Afterwards soak in the hotpools or visit the Agrodome. Night in Rotorua.

Day 5

Drive from Rotorua through to Pauanui on the Coromandel Peninsula. On your drive visit the heart of New Zealand′s Kiwi fruit area at TePuke and visit Mt Maunganui before heading inland again and up to Pauanui, Coromandel Peninsula. Night in Pauanui.

Day 6

Play golf at the Lakes Resort, Pauanui. This is a very relaxing area of New Zealand so take in the local scenery and enjoy a beach walk after golf. Night in Pauanui.

Day 7

Travel from Pauanui north to Gulf Harbour. Here you will enjoy playing this Robert Trent Jones design golf course that has magic views over the Hauraki Gulf and plays host to the New Zealand Open. Night in Orewa.

The Bay Of Islands

Day 8

Enjoy driving from Orewa up the coast to Paihia, Bay of Islands. For a great late afternoon trip we suggest taking the ferry across to Russell for dinner and experience the atmosphere and architecture of New Zealand 150 years ago. Night in Paihia.

Day 9

Play golf at Waitangi Golf Club and enjoy sweeping ocean views. Afterwards visit the Waitangi Treaty House and see where much of New Zealand′s history began. Night in Paihia.

Day 10

Depart Paihia and head back to Auckland. There are many great stops along the way before heading into Auckland.
